Happy Thanksgiving Week!

I just wanted you to know that I am in Athens, Ga (my hometown) enjoying the beginning of what I know will be a wonderful holiday season back South. Luckily, this year, I am able to enjoy so many of my favorite foods from home too! Amie got the incredible 5 Points Deli pimento cheese and chicken salad and I have been snacking on it. Jay got us Taco Stand for dinner, which we all loved (long live Queso dip!!!) I will continue to eat my way through the South by getting an Add Drugs Grilled Cheese really soon. (And some Cecilia cake — yummy!)

I cannot help but remember how hard Thanksgiving week was last year. The sweet Wolf Family all came out to Pomona and we celebrated even though I could not walk or eat. It was really tough. While everything is not perfect this year, it is very different than last year. I feel like I keep saying that, but it is so true. I am incredibly thankful that I can look back on the past year and see how much the Lord has done for me and how far I have come down this long road to recovery.

Unfortunately, I don’t think people really say thank you anymore–most are so ungrateful. I think people who do not say thank you are really trashy. Brides who don’t send thank you notes or dinner guests who never even say thank you are downright rude. We all have so much to be thankful for, whether we have a lot or a little. A little thanks goes a long way!

This Thanksgiving, I am so thankful for so many blessings. My life would be at the very top of that list, not to mention my ability to be at home with my wonderful family. Oh, and all the good food! I hope all of you have a wonderful thanksgiving full of yummy treats, great memories with family and friends, and a renewed sense of thanksgiving for all the Lord has done in your life this past year and what He will do in this upcoming one.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Katherine (and family) you are the ones to be thanked!!! Thank you for sharing this very private journey with all of us. We are the ones who have been Blessed with your wisdom, humor, honesty, prayers and downright openess. It has truly put into perspective what is important and all the rest is just “stuff” that really doesn’t matter. Last year I felt downright guilty eating all the yummy foods knowing that you were missing out. I am so thankful that you can enjoy eating this year! Happy Thanksgiving to you and you family!!!!

Katherine, I am sooo very glad you are enjoying all the wonderful foods this season. You deserve it. I also agree with you people should say Thank You more often, especially brides when sending Thank You notes etc…. . Thanks to you for being bold enough to say it. I can’t wait until December 20th!!!
