It’s Gone!

I think the combination of prayer and the contact lense worked!  The Corneal Abrasion is gone!  It could have caused some major issues, so we are so happy it’s not there anymore!

    Hey Katherine,

My friend, a member of your father-in-law’s church, told me your story the other day and sent me a link to your testimony. I have to write and tell you that I have been so blessed by it!! You are a beautiful girl with an incredible spirit and I have been so inspired by your plight. You see, I am also experiencing a trial of life. I am 29 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer on July 13 2009, three months after I was married. It’s so strange to me that the best day of your life and the worst day could be so close. It never occurred to me that anything bad could ever happen to me…but boy am I awake now! I have finished 5 months of treatment and will undergo a 8-9 hour double masectomy on Feb 3. I start to freak out a little when I think about it too much, but now I think about you, what all you have overcome and I know without a doubt the Lord will pull me through and I will be ok because I BELIEVE and have FAITH that he will! I am so amazed at how far you have come in such a short time. I know you will only continue to progress. Like you, my faith has grown stronger and I am closer to the Lord and more “Christ-like” than ever before. My journey has been so bitter sweet as I am sure your’s probably has. I will continue to pray for you and your family…specifically for you to walk normally and to regain the use of your right hand. Please pray for me as well. My prognosis is very good, as I caught it at an early stage, but I am concerned about the effects the chemo can have on my fertility. I want to be a mother more than anything and I fully expect my ovaries to begin functioning again and that HE will bless us with a child, but lots of prayers never hurt!. You are a true miracle and a light in this world. I know you will continue to shine! We are indeed suffering and it seems unfair when we look around at our young friends who seem have to have “normal lives” but I just try to remember that everyone has a cross to bear at some point and also what the bible says….”Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perserverence. Perserverence must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4. Just keep moving forward sweet girl and I will too. God’s Grace is sufficent and one day it will all make sense.

    Love and prayers,

Today was Sanctity of Life Sunday across the Southern Baptist
Convention. I shared your story so we could understand the BIG
picture, God’s picture of pro-life. This prompted one of my class
    members share their story.

Their daughter Susan, was born with a hole in her heart. Also, the
veins and arteries were not properly routing blood through her body.
They were backwards therefore her lungs could not adequately support
respiration. Being in the mililtary, they took Susan to the hospital.
The surgeon said there would be a 10% chance of Susan surviving the
surgery. Taking God at His word the Hoffman’s and told the surgeon
    to proceed.

While the surgery was underway, an army colonel breathed life into the
little girl, mouth-to-mouth, for 7 hours as the other doctors worked
to make the repairs. Why? Heart-lung machines were yet to be
invented! The surgery was successful and Susan, today 59, and her
parents are members of our church.

What can you say about God’s mercy and provision? Words fall short
but the lives of those who have felt God’s hand serve as a living
testimony to those who say “There is no God.”

I am so happy to hear this! After hearing your sweet request for prayers I placed your name on the prayer role of the temple where I worship this past Friday. I am so happy to hear the update! I know God hears and answers prayers. You are an inspiration to me and many others and I agree with Katy Moncus that one day everything is going to work together for our good- “make sense”. And it is all through Christ.
